We of the mountain communities are surrounded by a beautiful natural forest environment, with four seasons which provide ample opportunity for an enviable offering of sports and recreational opportunities. But we also want local events where folks can gather, be entertained, and actively participate in celebrations of the arts, culture, and heritage of our area.
We are relying upon your help to make this new community participation event a success of which we can all be proud. Over the next 10 months, members of the community will be engaged in numerous activities to create this unique cultural festival.
We ask you to join with us in creating an event which can involve all folks, no matter what age, career, or artistic experience. We reach out to all to come and participate and celebrate creativity of spirit.
This Festival has various programs planned to generate on-going excitement over the next 10 months.
***A call for playwright applications goes out in October, of each year.
***Community volunteers will read and discuss play selections and determine the finalists.
***Community members will be the actor/readers of the plays at the Festival presentation.
***The playwrights will be invited to participate in the rehearsals leading up to the actual Festival performances.
***The Festival culminates our efforts, with theatrical presentations held usually on the 3rd weekend in August.
We need sponsors for every stage of this grassroots collaboration--prizes for the winners--funds for advertising expenses--any other support which you want to donate.
